Overview

You can configure a Government ID Verification to only accept IDs from specific countries. For each country, you can choose which ID types for that country to accept.

For example, you can allow only driver's licenses from the United States.  

To find the full list of countries and ID types that Persona supports, visit the Coverage Map in your Dashboard.

Configuring allowed ID types for a Government ID Verification Template

To configure the allowed ID types for a Government ID Verification, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to Government ID Verification Template configurations

For Government ID Verification Templates within an Inquiry Template

1. In the Persona Dashboard, navigate to Inquiries > Template. Select a template that uses Government ID Verification.
2. In the upper corner of the Flow Editor, click Configure.
3. Select Verifications > Government ID in the sidebar.

For Government ID Verification Templates used alongside a Transaction, Workflow, or via API

1. In the Persona Dashboard, navigate to Verifications > Template.
2. Select the desired Government ID Verification Template that you'd like to change.

Step 2: Enable the "Allowed ID Type" Verification check

Within the configurations:

1. Find the section named Verification checks.
2. Find "Allowed ID type" in the list of Checks.
3. If the "Allowed ID type" row is grayed out: click "+" in the row to enable it.
4. Select the Required checkbox in the row.

This step ensures that you're desired ID types that you'll set in subsequent steps are respected when a Verification is run meaning that any undesired ID Types will cause this check to fail.

Step 3: Configure enabled countries and ID types

Within the configurations:

1. Find the section named Enabled countries and ID types.
2. In the list of Countries:
   • To include a country: select "+" in that country's row.
   • To exclude a country: select "..." > Disable in that country's row.
   • To select the IDs accepted for a country, expand the row for that country to see the possible ID types.
     • To enable an ID type: select "+" next to the ID type.
     • To disable an ID type: select "..." > Disable next to the ID type.

Step 4: Save your changes

In the upper corner of the Flow Editor, click Save.
