# Dismissing Report matches

> Dismiss false positive matches on Watchlist, PEP, and Adverse Media Reports in the Dashboard, and let a recurring Report resume.

Section: Reports > Introduction > Using Reports

This applies to Watchlist, PEP, and Adverse Media Reports, on both individuals and businesses, and to Custom List Reports. Screening Reports use review labels instead — see [How to review Screening Report matches](https://help.withpersona.com/articles/NWRTQpVeAAZA3xxw1Fpjdp/).

You can dismiss false-positive matches from the Persona Dashboard. Every dismissal needs a reason, which is recorded alongside who dismissed it and when.

If the Report runs on a recurring cadence, dismissing its matches lets it resume: the next run is scheduled about 30 minutes later, then the normal cadence continues. Dismissals carry forward, so a dismissed match won't come back on later runs.

## What you can dismiss

| What you're clearing | Where you'll see it |
| ------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| One identity match | Watchlist, PEP, Adverse Media — open the identity, then "Dismiss identity match" |
| Every active match on the report | "Dismiss matches" in the Results menu (Watchlist, Business Watchlist), or the compact report menu |
| Every identity match at once | "Dismiss all identity matches" (Adverse Media, Business Adverse Media); "Dismiss all matches" (PEP) |
| Individual news articles under one identity | "Dismiss media matches" (Adverse Media) |
| Several identity matches you tick | "Dismiss Selected" — not switched on by default |

Multi-select ("Dismiss Selected") is not turned on for every organization.

## Where dismissed matches go

Each Report has **Active** and **Dismissed** tabs. Dismissed matches move to the **Dismissed** tab with their reason and reviewer, and the action appears in the Report's history.

## Permissions

Dismissing requires a role with **Review matches** set to **Edit** under Reports. It can be scoped to specific environments and Report templates.

Dismissal is unavailable on redacted Reports and on Reports that are still pending or have errored.
