Basic Verification + Address Solution

Basic Verification + Address Solution

Overview

Persona’s Basic Verification + Address solution enables organizations to first extract and verify government-issued IDs, such as passports and driver’s licenses, and then collect and verify address documents, such as utility bills or insurance statements. This solution provides flexible identity and address verification with fallback logic to maximize verification rates.

In this guide, learn:

  • What’s included in the solution
  • How the components work together to verify both identity and address
  • How to customize and extend this solution for your specific needs

What’s Included

The Basic Verification + Address solution includes the following components:

1 Inquiry Template

  • Government ID Verification
    • Automatically accepts all ID types by default, including US driver’s licenses and state IDs. You can modify the accepted ID types by following this guide.
    • Requires a Barcode Check which means that both the front and back of ID are collected. While this required check introduces some friction to the user experience, it greatly improves extraction accuracy and overall user experience.
    • Inquiry theme can be customized to match your company’s branding and user experience.
  • Document Verification
    • Collects and verifies address-related documents, including utility bills, insurance statements, and similar proof-of-address documents.

2 Workflows

  • Run 'Decision' on Inquiry Completed Workflow triggered on inquiry completion
    • Automatically reviews verification results and applies your decision rules.
    • Can be extended to include additional actions such as flagging high-risk cases or triggering notifications.
  • Run 'Decision' on Inquiry Failed Workflow triggered on inquiry failure
    • Automatically creates a case for failed inquiries.

1 Case Template

  • Basic Verification + Address Manual Review
    • Creates a Case if the user fails the verification or if additional manual review is required.
    • Includes tags or comments indicating why the Case was created, allowing your team to review and resolve cases as needed.
    • Includes a Case Action to run ad-hoc Government ID Verifications with a single click, providing additional assurance or re-trying Government ID Verification when the service is back online.

Basic Verification + Address Solution Process

Here’s how the components work together to verify a user’s government-issued ID and address:

  1. The Inquiry collects the user’s government ID and run a Government ID Verification.

  2. If the Government ID Verification passes, the Inquiry automatically prompts the user to upload or capture address documentation and subsequently, a document verification is run.

  3. If verification fails or additional review is needed, a Basic Verification + Address Manual Review Case is automatically created for your team to review.
