# Slite integration overview

## Overview

[Slite](https://slite.com/) is a knowledge-base platform where teams write, organize, and find internal documentation. Persona’s Slite integration lets you create, search, and retrieve notes, and ask questions using accessible notes as sources from a Workflow.

## Integration features

The Slite integration supports these Workflow actions:

- **Create note:** Create a note from Markdown or HTML content.
- **Get note:** Retrieve a note and its content in Markdown, HTML, or SliteML.
- **Search notes:** Search accessible notes and retrieve matching note IDs.
- **Ask a question:** Ask a natural-language question and receive an answer with source notes.

## Prerequisites

Before configuring the integration, you need:

- A Slite workspace.
- A Slite API key.
- Access to the notes you want to search, retrieve, or use as sources.

## Set up Slite credentials

1. In Slite, open **Settings > API** and generate an API key.
2. In the Persona Dashboard, go to **Integrations > Marketplace** and select **Slite**.
3. Select **Add Credential** and enter a nickname and the API key.
4. Save the credential.

Slite uses Bearer authentication. The API key acts on behalf of the user who created it and only accesses notes available to that user.

## Use Slite in a workflow

1. Create a workflow or open the workflow you want to update.
2. Add an **Action** step and select **Integrations**.
3. Select **Slite**, choose the saved credential, and select an action.
4. Map Persona data to the action inputs.
5. Save and publish the workflow.

## Slite actions

### Create note

Create a note in the authenticated user’s personal channel or below an existing parent note.

**Required field:**

- **Title:** The note title.

**Optional fields include:**

- **Parent Note ID:** The note under which to create the new note.
- **Template ID:** A Slite template to apply.
- **Markdown content** or **HTML content:** Provide one content format, not both.

### Search and get notes

Search notes to find Note IDs, optionally filtering by parent note, depth, review state, edit or update date, or archived status. An empty search query lists all accessible notes. Use a Note ID to retrieve the note’s full content and select Markdown, HTML, or SliteML output.

### Ask a question

Provide a required question and optionally a Parent Note ID to limit the notes used as sources. Enable **Wait for Answer** to wait for the completed response; otherwise, a long-running answer can return a processing status instead.
