# Hive integration overview

## Overview

[Hive](https://hive.com/) is a project management platform for planning projects, tracking tasks, managing resources, and collaborating on work. Persona's Hive integration connects Workflows to projects in a Hive workspace.

## Integration features

The Hive integration supports four Workflow actions:

- **List projects**: Return the projects available to the connected user.
- **Create project**: Create a project in a workspace.
- **Retrieve project**: Return one project by its ID.
- **Update project**: Change an existing project's details.

## Setting up the Hive integration

### Prerequisites

To connect Hive, you need:

- A Hive account and workspace.
- A Hive API key from **My profile > API Info**.
- Permission to manage integrations in the Persona Dashboard.

### Adding a Hive credential

1.  In Hive, select your profile picture, then navigate to **My profile > API Info** and copy your API key.
2.  In the Persona Dashboard, navigate to **Integrations > Marketplace** and select **Hive**.
3.  Click **Add Credential** and enter a nickname for the credential.
4.  Enter the Hive API key, then save the credential.

## Using Hive in a Workflow

1.  Create a Workflow or open an existing one.
2.  Add an **Action Step**, then select **Integrations**.
3.  Select **Hive** and choose your saved credential.
4.  Choose an action and map data into its fields.
5.  Save and publish the Workflow.

## Hive operations

### List projects

Return the projects available to the connected Hive user.

**Optional field**

- **Fields**: A comma-separated list of fields to return.

### Create project

Create a project in a Hive workspace.

**Required fields**

- **Workspace**: The workspace identifier.
- **Name**: The project name.

**Optional fields**

- **Description**.
- **Start date** and **end date**.
- **Color**.
- **Budget**.
- **Sharing type**: `everyone`, `custom`, or `me`.

### Retrieve project

Return one Hive project.

**Required field**

- **Project ID**.

### Update project

Update an existing Hive project.

**Required field**

- **Project ID**.

**Optional fields**

- **Name** and **description**.
- **Start date** and **end date**.
- **Color**.
- **Budget**.
- **Sharing type**: `everyone`, `custom`, or `me`.
