## Overview

[Guru](https://www.getguru.com/) is a knowledge-management platform that captures company knowledge as verified cards and organizes it into collections. Persona’s Guru integration lets you search, create, retrieve, verify, and mark cards for verification from a Workflow.

## Integration features

The Guru integration supports these Workflow actions:

- **Search cards:** Search cards across accessible collections, with filters, sorting, and pagination.
- **Create card:** Create a card in a collection with HTML or Markdown content.
- **Get card:** Retrieve a card’s content, collection, and verification details.
- **List collections:** Retrieve the collections available to the authenticated user.
- **Verify card:** Mark an authorized card as accurate and up to date.
- **Unverify card:** Mark a card as needing verification.

## Prerequisites

Before configuring the integration, you need:

- A Guru account with access to a collection.
- A Guru user token and the email address of the user it was issued for.
- Permission to verify a card when using the **Verify card** action.

## Set up Guru credentials

1. In Guru, open **Manage > Apps and Integrations > API Access** and generate a user token.
2. In the Persona Dashboard, go to **Integrations > Marketplace** and select **Guru**.
3. Select **Add Credential** and enter a nickname, the token user’s email address, and the API token.
4. Save the credential.

Guru uses HTTP Basic authentication with the user email as the username and the API token as the password. Use a user token, rather than a read-only collection token, for actions that create or update cards.

## Use Guru in a workflow

1. Create a workflow or open the workflow you want to update.
2. Add an **Action** step and select **Integrations**.
3. Select **Guru**, choose the saved credential, and select an action.
4. Map Persona data to the action inputs.
5. Save and publish the workflow.

## Guru actions

### Search cards and list collections

List collections to find the Collection ID required to create a card. Search cards to discover Card IDs, optionally using search terms, Guru Query Language filters, archived-card visibility, sorting, or a pagination token.

### Create card

Create a card in a collection.

**Required fields:**

- **Title:** The card’s title.
- **Content:** HTML or Markdown card content.
- **Collection ID:** The collection where Guru creates the card.

**Optional fields include:**

- **Share status:** Private, Team, or Public.
- **Verification interval:** The number of days between card verifications.

### Get, verify, and unverify cards

Use a Card ID to retrieve a card’s content, collection, and verification details. The **Verify card** action requires that the authenticated user is authorized to verify the card. **Unverify card** marks the card as needing verification.
