The Clearbit integration is particularly valuable for risk assessment, business verification (KYB), and gathering additional context during identity verification processes.

• Person Enrichment: Retrieve professional information including full name, job title, role, seniority, and social media profiles
• Company Enrichment: Access detailed company data including:
  • Business information (legal name, domain, location, founded date)
  • Company metrics (employee count, estimated revenue, funding)
  • Industry classification (sector, category, SIC/NAICS codes)
  • Technology stack and tools used
  • Social presence (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Crunchbase)

Setting up the Clearbit integration

Prerequisites

To set up the Clearbit integration, ensure you have:

• Admin access to your Clearbit account
• A Clearbit API key (Persona can provide shared credentials, or you can use your own)

Setting up the Clearbit Credentials

1. Navigate to Integrations
   • Go to Integrations > Marketplace in your Persona Dashboard
   • Search for Clearbit in the available integrations
2. Add Credentials
   • Click on Clearbit and select Add Credential
   • Enter a descriptive nickname for the credential
   • Choose between:
     • Persona Shared API Key (default, included with your plan)
     • Custom API Key (if you have your own Clearbit account)
   • Save the credential

Using the Clearbit integration in a workflow

1. Create a new workflow, or open an existing workflow you’d like to update.
2. Add a new action step > Integrations.
3. Select the Clearbit integration and select your Clearbit credentials.
4. Configure the input fields to pass in the correct information.
5. Save/publish the workflow.

FAQs

What email addresses work best with Clearbit?

Clearbit works best with business email addresses from company domains (e.g.,john@company.com). Generic email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) may return limited or no enrichment data since they don't indicate company affiliation.

What happens if Clearbit can't find data for an email address?

If no data is found, the action will complete successfully but return empty/null values for person and company fields. Your workflow should include error handling to gracefully manage cases where enrichment data isn't available.
