# Dropbox integration overview

## Overview

[Dropbox](https://www.dropbox.com/) is a cloud storage platform for storing, synchronizing, sharing, and collaborating on files. Persona's Dropbox integration lets you search a connected Dropbox account and add collaborators to a file from a Workflow.

## Integration features

The Dropbox integration supports two Workflow actions:

- **Search files**: Search for files and folders by name or file content. You can limit the search to a path, status, extension, or file category.
- **Add file member**: Add one or more collaborators to a file by email address or Dropbox account ID. You can set an access level and choose whether to send a notification.

## Setting up the Dropbox integration

### Prerequisites

To connect Dropbox, you need:

- A Dropbox account with access to the files you want to search or share.
- Permission to manage integrations in the Persona Dashboard.

Dropbox uses OAuth 2.0. The requested scopes allow Persona to read file and folder metadata and manage file sharing.

### Adding a Dropbox credential

1.  In the Persona Dashboard, navigate to **Integrations > Marketplace** and select **Dropbox**.
2.  Click **Add Credential** and enter a nickname for the credential.
3.  Sign in to Dropbox and approve the requested permissions.
4.  Save the credential.

## Using Dropbox in a Workflow

1.  Create a Workflow or open an existing one.
2.  Add an **Action Step**, then select **Integrations**.
3.  Select **Dropbox** and choose your saved credential.
4.  Choose an action and map data into its fields.
5.  Save and publish the Workflow.

## Dropbox operations

### Search files

Search the connected Dropbox account for files and folders. The search query is required.

**Required field**

- **Query**: The text to find in file names or file contents.

**Optional fields**

- **Path**: A Dropbox folder path to search within.
- **Maximum results** and **order by**.
- **File status**: Active or deleted files.
- **Filename only**: Exclude file content from the search.
- **File extensions** and **file categories**.
- **Match field options**: Include highlight spans for matched text.

### Add file member

Add collaborators to a file. Use **Search files** first if you need the file path or ID.

**Required fields**

- **File**: A Dropbox file path or file ID.
- **Members**: One or more collaborators identified by email address or Dropbox account ID.

**Optional fields**

- **Custom message**.
- **Quiet**: Suppress email notifications.
- **Access level**.
- **Add message as comment**.
