Persona’s Advanced KYC + Age Verification (US) solution enables organizations to perform robust identity verification by combining government ID verification, Database Verification (with social security number as an input), and a selfie liveness check. Users under 18 automatically decline based on information collected from government-issued IDs such as passports or driver’s licenses. This solution offers identity verification with the ability to assess age while maintaining a streamlined user experience.

What’s Included
The Advanced KYC + Age Verification (US) solution includes the following components:
1 Inquiry Template
- Government ID Verification
- Automatically collects all ID types by default, including US driver’s licenses and state IDs. You can modify the accepted ID types by following this guide.
- Requires a Barcode Check which means that both the front and back of ID are collected. While this required check introduces some friction to the user experience, it greatly improves extraction accuracy and overall user experience.
- Database Verification
- Collects key identity information including name, SSN, and address.
- Uses the Database Verification to compare provided data against authoritative data sources.
- The Inquiry theme can be customized to match your company’s branding.
- Selfie Verification
- Performs selfie liveness checks to confirm identity.
1 Workflows
- Run Automatic Decline Under 18 Years Old Workflow triggered on inquiry failure
- Automatically declines the inquiry if user is under 18 years of age or if there are other risky signals from the verification experience
Advanced KYC + Age Verification (US) Solution Process
Here’s how the components work together to verify a user’s identity:
- The Inquiry collects the user’s government ID, SSN, selfie liveness check and verifies their age.
- As part of the process a Government ID verification is run.
- If the Government ID Verification passes, the Inquiry automatically prompts the user to conduct a Selfie Verification and subsequently the appropriate verification checks are run on the provided three-point Selfie.
- Once the Inquiry is completed, the Run ‘Decision’ on Inquiry Completed Workflow is triggered to apply your automated decisioning logic and automatically decline users under 18.
