Overview

Policy Agents helps teams turn requirements from multiple sources into a traceable, auditable Persona implementation. It supports both teams starting a new implementation from source documents and teams validating or updating an existing configuration.

Complex identity programs often rely on requirements spread across many document types, including:

  • Anti-money laundering (AML) policies
  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Product requirements documents (PRDs)
  • Data processing agreements (DPAs)
  • Regulatory documents
  • Written stakeholder requirements

Instead of manually reconciling documents and relying on siloed knowledge, Policy Agents extracts enforceable requirements, links them to their sources, and maps them to the relevant parts of your Persona configuration. Once requirements are reviewed and approved, Persona Assistant can use them to propose a starting configuration or recommend changes to an existing implementation.

Benefits

Compliance teams can use Policy Agents to catch implementation gaps early, validate coverage, and turn approved requirements into working Persona configurations.

  • From policy to implementation: Go beyond extracting requirements. Policy Agents connects source documents to the Persona configuration needed to operationalize them.
  • Multi-source reconciliation: Enterprise programs rarely rely on a single document. Policy Agents reconciles inputs from different teams and sources, surfacing contradictions so you can align on a single source of truth.
  • Continuous assurance: Maintain a traceable record of how requirements map to your implementation as policies, regulations, and configurations evolve.
  • Governed AI: Persona Assistant can propose and apply configuration changes, but every proposed change requires human review and approval. Your team remains in control of what changes and why.

How it works

Policy Agents maps source documents to your live Persona configuration, providing a requirement-level view of your implementation. The experience operates across five stages:

Extract

Upload your policies, SOPs, PRDs, DPAs, regulatory documents, or written stakeholder requirements. Policy Agents identifies enforceable requirements, links them to their sources, and flags duplicates, ambiguities, and conflicts. You can add, edit, or remove requirements, while version history tracks changes over time.

Assess

Policy Agents maps each requirement to the relevant Persona capabilities, including Workflows, Inquiry Templates, and Case Templates. Each requirement receives a status:

  • Configured: The requirement is implemented.
  • Missing: The requirement is not currently addressed in the configuration.
  • Conflicting: Multiple requirements contradict each other.
  • Ambiguous: The requirement needs human clarification.
  • Out of scope: The requirement falls outside Persona’s capabilities.

Build

Use approved requirements to start a new implementation or extend an existing one. Persona Assistant can recommend a starting configuration based on the requirements you provide, such as adding Workflow branches, defining Inquiry Template fields, or configuring Case Templates.

This lets teams move from a source document to a working Persona configuration, rather than only identifying what may be missing from an existing implementation.

Remediate

When Policy Agents identifies a gap or inconsistency in an existing implementation, Persona Assistant can recommend a targeted configuration change. For example, it might recommend adding a Workflow branch, updating an Inquiry Template field, or creating a compliance rule.

Once your team reviews and approves the recommendation, Persona Assistant can apply the change. The audit trail records the source requirement, the identified issue, the approved change, and the resulting configuration.

Monitor

As regulations, internal policies, or configurations change, Policy Agents can use regulatory context from Persona Atlas to identify where your live configuration has drifted from current requirements. This allows your team to review and address new gaps before they affect a compliance review or audit.

Frequently asked questions

Does Policy Agents automatically change my live configuration?

No changes are applied without human approval. Persona Assistant can propose configuration changes to address gaps or build a new implementation, but every proposed change goes through human review and approval. Approved changes are logged in the audit trail.

What happens if two uploaded documents have conflicting requirements?

Policy Agents is designed for implementations with multiple sources of truth. If requirements from different documents conflict, Policy Agents surfaces the contradiction and links it back to the relevant sources. Your team can review the conflict, determine the correct approach, and update the requirements before building or changing the configuration.

Who is Policy Agents built for?

Policy Agents is designed for businesses with complex, requirements-driven identity implementations. This includes fintech, crypto, banking, and marketplaces managing multijurisdictional deployments, new implementations, reimplementations, or frequently changing compliance policies. It is especially useful for teams preparing for an audit or compliance review.

Disclaimer

Persona provides tools to help companies address identity challenges, but each business is responsible for determining its own risk tolerance, compliance obligations, and implementation requirements. Persona does not provide legal or regulatory advice or certify that a customer’s implementation is legally or regulatorily compliant.
