Persona Assistant is the next evolution of our in-dashboard chat experience, formerly known as Copilot. It is an intelligent assistant designed to streamline your experience, accelerate your workflows, and help you unlock deeper insights from your identity operations. It can navigate the dashboard, perform tasks on your behalf, analyze your data, and help you configure Persona products through simple, conversational commands.
Think of Persona Assistant as a partner that can see what you see on the screen and help you get things done faster, from finding a specific Inquiry to understanding performance trends.
Key Capabilities
Persona Assistant introduces powerful new ways to interact with the Persona platform. This list is non-exhaustive, as additional capabilities will continue rolling out over time as the product evolves.
Dashboard Navigation & Action
The Assistant can navigate the dashboard for you. Instead of manually clicking through menus, you can ask the Assistant to take you to a specific page, click a button, or even fill out a form. It understands the context of your current view and can perform actions on your behalf with your permission.
Example:
- Ask: "Take me to the Inquiry with ID
inq_123abc." The Assistant will navigate you directly to that Inquiry's page. - Ask: "Take me to where I can configure the experience my users go through to get verified." The Assistant will navigate you directly to the Flow Editor.
- Ask: "Add
jane.doe@example.comas a developer to my team." The Assistant will navigate to the Team page, click the invite button, and pre-fill the invitation form.
Contextualized Conversations
You can pull specific Persona objects, like Inquiries, Cases, or Templates, directly into your conversation. This allows you to ask detailed questions about the exact records you are working on, and get precise, data-backed answers without leaving your chat.

- While viewing a Case, ask: "Summarize this Case for me."
- Ask: "Pull up the Inquiry Template named 'US Customer Onboarding' and tell me which verifications it includes."
Analytics & Data Insights
Ask questions in plain language and get instant answers backed by charts and visualizations. Powered by Persona's Insights Query feature, the Assistant turns your data into visual, shareable insights, with no SQL required. Save any generated query or visualization as an Insight Query object to revisit anytime.

- "Show me all Inquiries that failed in the last three days."
- "What was our verification pass rate last week compared to the week before?"
Conversational Configuration
Set up and modify Persona products using a guided, conversational interface. The Assistant can walk you through complex configurations, making it easier to build and deploy flows, templates, and more. A new question-and-answer format makes it easier for users to get up to speed on Persona concepts, terminology, and best practices.
Example:
- Ask: "Ask me questions about my organization so you can explain how Persona can be configured to help me." The Assistant will ask targeted questions and guide you toward the right setup based on your answers.
Smarter, More Accurate Responses
Powered by the latest AI models, Persona Assistant delivers significantly sharper and more accurate responses. It provides better answers to your questions about Persona concepts, best practices, and product functionality.
How to Use Persona Assistant
You can access the Persona Assistant from the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your dashboard. The side panel is resizable, making it easier to view longer conversations as you navigate across different pages.

How is the new Persona Assistant different from the old Copilot?
The Persona Assistant is a major evolution from the previous Copilot. While the old Copilot could answer general questions about Persona based on documentation, the new Assistant can:
- Interact directly with the dashboard to navigate and take action.
- Access and discuss specific data objects like Inquiries and Cases.
- Perform data analysis and answer questions about your organization's activity.
- Guide you conversationally through complex product configurations.
- Provide more intelligent answers based on newer AI models.
Can Persona Assistant make changes to my account?
Yes, but only with your explicit permission. When you ask the Assistant to perform an action (like inviting a teammate or changing a configuration), it will always present you with a confirmation step before it proceeds. You are always in control.
What kind of data can the Assistant access?
The Assistant can access the Persona objects you have permission to view, such as Inquiries, Verifications, and Cases. This allows it to answer specific questions and provide contextual insights. It respects all user permissions and roles configured in your account.
How long is my conversation history stored?
Your conversation history with the Persona Assistant is retained for 30 days. This allows the Assistant to reference recent context to provide more relevant answers during ongoing tasks. After 30 days, conversations are automatically deleted.
Can I disable Persona Assistant for my organization?
Yes, account admins can disable Persona Assistant for their organization. To get started, reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
