What allowed ID types are
The allowed ID types on a Government ID Verification are the documents it will accept. The main types are driver’s license, passport, and national ID, and the list is set per country, because which documents exist varies by country.
Picking the list is a coverage decision. Consider which ID types your end users are likely to hold and to have to hand, rather than accepting everything or narrowing to one document you happen to trust.
Where to find it in the Dashboard
Open Inquiries > Templates and select a template that uses Government ID Verification. In the Flow Editor, use the left panel to head to Verifications, select the Government ID Verification template, then open Countries and ID types. For a template used alongside a Transaction, a Workflow, or the API, open Verifications > Templates and select the template instead.
That table can be edited three ways: expand one country and add or remove its ID types, select several countries and use the Add ID or Remove ID buttons in the floating action bar, or open the Bulk ID Configuration Panel with the ID button to work by ID type across every country. For a worked example of the bulk route, see Bulk Configure Allowed Gov IDs.
What sits alongside it
Each allowed ID type carries its own settings, and two of them are worth knowing about before you finish here.
- Accepted alternatives, also called fallback ID types, let the Verification accept a different document when an end user submits one. See Government ID Verification: Setting accepted fallback ID types.
- Required sides decide whether the front, the back, or both are collected for that type.
When you configure accepted alternatives, the main ID type must stay in the list of accepted ID types. Remove it and the ID type check fails even when the end user submits the correct document.
Changes need to be saved in the Flow Editor and published before they go live. For the full procedure, see Government ID Verification: Setting allowed ID types.
