What is the Cases module?
The Accounts Cases module is a Resource module that can be added to an Account layout. It displays the Cases related to the Account in a table, with one row per Case. When there are more Cases than fit on one page, the table is paginated.
The Cases module is different from the Related Cases module, which you can learn more about here.
How do you add a Cases module?

This module is added and arranged on the Layout page. For a general overview of how the Layout page works, see Accounts: Layout Editor.
-
Navigate to the Dashboard, and click on Accounts > Types.
-
Find and click on the Account Type you want to edit, or click Create type to create a new one.
-
In the Layout Editor, navigate to the Tab you want to add the module to. Click an empty space to view the Module Library.
-
In the right toolbar, search for ‘Cases.’ The module is listed under Related Records.
-
Drag and drop the Cases module into your layout and reposition it by dragging it around.
-
Click on the Cases module. On the right toolbar you can customize how information is displayed on the module.
-
Under Settings, you can set the Module title, which is displayed at the top of the module. It defaults to “Cases”.
-
Under Settings, you can set the Resource, which is the query that determines which Cases are displayed on the module. It defaults to the current Account’s Cases.
-
Under Settings, you can configure the Columns displayed for each Case. You can add, remove, and reorder columns, and set a visibility rule on a column. By default, the module displays Type (the Case template, linked to the template), Status, and Last Updated. The default columns do not link to the Case itself. To open each Case from the table, add a column with the Case ID, which is displayed as a link to the Case. The Cases module is always displayed as a table, so there is no View Type setting.

-
Under Interaction, you can add Actions that reviewers can run from the table. Only Persona system actions are offered here. For more, see Accounts: Module Actions.
-
Under Module Layout, you can change:
- Dynamic height: Module will grow or shrink to fit its contents. This is on by default.
- Visibility: Dynamically control whether the module is hidden. This lets you set conditions for when the module should be displayed or hidden from view based on your requirements. You can read more about Visibility Configuration here.
- Expand by default: This setting is shown for the Cases module and is on by default. Because the Cases module is always displayed as a table, it does not change how the module appears.
-
-
Click the Delete button if you want to remove the module from the layout.
