Business Website Verification configurations

What these configurations cover

Business Website Verification scans the live state of a business website during KYB and returns a passed or failed status. Its configurations decide which of the Verification checks behind that status are required, and which LLM provider powers the one check that is AI generated.

Business Website Verification offers required or un-required Verification checks and LLM provider selection.

Where to find it in the Dashboard

  • Documentation > Verification Checks lists every check available. Find the section for Business Website checks.
  • Inquiries > Templates is where the change is made for a Business Website Verification Template inside an Inquiry Template. Select the template, use the left panel of the Flow Editor to head to Verifications, select Business Website Verification, then open Checks.
  • Verifications > Templates is the path for a Business Website Verification Template that is not attached to an Inquiry Template. Select Business Website Verification, then open Checks.

What the settings control

Required checks decide what has to pass. The checks look at different things about a website, so the set you require is a statement about what legitimacy means to you: whether the domain resolves and is not redirecting, how old it is and how soon it expires, whether the site carries enough real content rather than a parked or coming soon page, whether the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are genuine, whether other sites link to it, and whether it has been reported for unsafe content. The verification needs a business name and a URL; address, phone number, and email address are optional and recommended.

LLM provider selection sets which provider powers the AI generated Identity Comparison check, the one that compares what the website says against the business details you submitted. Pricing does not differ by provider.

When to reach for it

Reach for required checks when you are onboarding digital first or thin file businesses whose registry data is incomplete, and you need the website itself to carry more of the decision. Reach for LLM provider selection when your organization has a preference about which provider processes that comparison.

This verification does not cover the wider online presence of a business, such as social media or third party review sites. That is the Business Online Presence Report.
