Overview
An Inquiry Template sits in the middle of most solutions: it creates Verifications directly, and it triggers the Workflows that create everything else. That makes it one of the two surfaces where Platform Connections shows the full picture rather than one side of it.
Direct connections lists the Verification Templates
Inquiry Templates and Workflows are the only surfaces with a Direct connections section on the Creates tab. For an Inquiry Template it lists the templates the Inquiry can create directly. A Database, Government ID and Selfie template shows three Verification Templates there, which means an Inquiry from this template can directly create a Database, Government ID, or Selfie Verification.
Verification Templates in Platform Connections covers the same relationship read from the other end.
Every Workflow the template triggers, in one place
The Workflows section shows which Workflows this Inquiry Template triggers, for example one on Inquiry completed and another on Inquiry failed. Downstream connections then shows what those Workflows create.
This is the section most builders come for. Changing workflow logic for a specific Inquiry Template is a common request as a solution grows, and identifying every Workflow for one template used to mean searching the Workflows page by hand, which is how a Workflow gets overlooked.
You are reading the published version
Connections is available for the latest published version of a template. Inquiry Templates are versioned: editing one creates a draft, publishing the draft creates a new live version, and each Inquiry stays linked to the version that was live when it was created.
So the page describes the published template rather than the draft you have open, and a relationship you add in a draft shows up once you publish it. See Inquiry Template Versions and Change Management.
Opening it from the Flow Editor
In the Flow Editor, the ··· menu in the header holds links to Version History and Connections, alongside keyboard shortcuts and the help center. See Getting started with your Dynamic Flow Template for the rest of that header.
What creates an Inquiry from this template
The Created By tab lists the upstream templates and Workflows that can create an Inquiry from the template you are viewing. A Workflow creates an Inquiry from a template with the Create Inquiry step, which names the Inquiry Template the new Inquiry is based on, so a Workflow set up that way is what you see here.
