What is the Inquiry Home component?

Home is an Inquiry screen component that adds a landing screen listing the items a user needs to complete, grouped into required and optional. Each item links to its own path, and a button moves the user forward once they are ready. You can define logic that governs when it appears.

A Home screen gives users a clear overview of what is needed to finish an Inquiry, such as which documents are required versus optional.

How do you add an Inquiry Home component?

1. Navigate to the Dashboard, and click on Inquiries > Templates.
2. Find and click on the Inquiry template you want to edit, or Create a new template.
3. Hover over a screen and click the Pencil icon, or double-click the screen to open it in the Screen Editing View.

4. In the Left Panel, search the Component Library for ‘Home’.
5. Drag and drop the Home component into your screen, and reposition it by dragging it around.
6. Click on the Home component to open its settings in the Right Panel. The panel has two tabs: Design and Logic.
   1. On the Design tab, under Properties:
      1. Paths: Add the items shown on the screen. Click the + to add a path, drag the handles to reorder, and click a path to edit it. For each path you can set:
         1. Label: The text shown for the path.
         2. Required: Turn this on to require the user to complete the path.
         3. Disable on complete: Turn this on to disable the path once it is completed.
         4. Initial icon and Complete icon: The icons shown before and after the path is completed. Upload them from the Asset library.
         5. Transition: The screen or action sequence the user goes to when they select the path.
      2. Transition: Select the screen or action sequence to transition to when the user clicks the button. The transition target cannot be changed after the template has been saved.
      3. Button text: Set the text displayed on the button.
      4. Required label: Set the heading shown above the required items.
      5. Optional label: Set the heading shown above the optional items.
   2. On the Design tab, under Default icons, set the default Initial and Completed icons used for paths, chosen from the Asset library. These apply unless a path has its own icons.
   3. On the Logic tab, add rules that govern when the component appears, and when it does not. See the Logic tab section on the Screen Step components in Inquiries page for details.
7. Use the actions at the top right of the panel to copy, delete, or set translations on the component. To translate the text, see Editing translations for your Inquiry.
8. Close the step. You’ll have to Save and Publish the template to begin using it.
