TalentLyft integration overview

Overview

TalentLyft is an end-to-end recruiting platform that combines applicant tracking, recruitment marketing, and talent pipeline management. Persona’s TalentLyft integration helps recruiting, operations, and compliance teams connect identity workflows to the candidate record—so you can pull candidate context into Persona and write verification outcomes back into TalentLyft without manual copy/paste.

Common use cases include scoping verification workflows to specific roles or cohorts, documenting verification decisions in a candidate’s timeline, and tagging candidates based on outcomes to support downstream routing and reporting.

Benefits

  • Reduced manual work: Automatically write verification outcomes (and supporting context) back to the candidate record, so recruiters don’t need to duplicate updates across tools.
  • Clear audit trail: Keep identity and risk-related notes attached to the candidate timeline for consistent visibility across hiring stakeholders.
  • Faster hiring decisions: Use tags to help teams quickly filter, sort, and route candidates based on verification status or review needs.

Integration Features

Persona’s TalentLyft integration connects workflows to your TalentLyft candidate records. Key capabilities include:

  • Candidate lookup and segmentation: Pull a paginated list of candidates and filter by job IDs or creation date to target the right cohort.
  • Timeline write-backs: Add notes to a candidate’s timeline to capture verification results, escalation context, or internal guidance.
  • Outcome-based tagging: Replace a candidate’s tag set to reflect workflow outcomes (for example, persona-verified or persona-review-needed) and enable downstream filtering.

Setting up the TalentLyft integration

Prerequisites

To set up the TalentLyft integration, ensure you have:

  • Admin access to your TalentLyft account
  • Necessary API permissions to access TalentLyft credentials

Setting up the TalentLyft credentials

  1. In TalentLyft, generate an API access token from your account’s Integrations area (TalentLyft calls this an “Access token”).
  2. In the Persona Dashboard, navigate to Integrations > Marketplace and select TalentLyft.
  3. Click Add Credential.
  4. Enter a credential nickname, then paste your TalentLyft access token when prompted.
  5. Save the credential.

Note: If you generate a new TalentLyft access token, any existing custom integrations using the old token may stop working—reuse the existing token if appropriate for your setup.

Using the TalentLyft integration in a workflow

  1. Create a new workflow, or open an existing workflow you’d like to update.
  2. Add a new Action step > Integrations.
  3. Select the TalentLyft integration and choose the TalentLyft credential you added.
  4. Configure the action’s input fields (for example, Candidate ID, note message, or tags).
  5. Save and publish the workflow.

TalentLyft Operations Overview

In addition to syncing field values, Persona can list candidates, add notes to candidate timelines, and update candidate tags using TalentLyft’s API. These actions support seamless two-way workflows, letting teams manage investigations without switching platforms.

See below for a comprehensive list of available Workflow Action steps and possible configurations for the TalentLyft integration:

List Candidates

Retrieves a paginated set of candidates from TalentLyft so you can pull the right population into your workflow (for example, candidates tied to specific requisitions or created after a specific date). This is helpful for operational workflows that need to process candidates in batches, or for workflows that only apply to certain roles, time windows, or recruiting campaigns.

Configuration Steps:

  • Job IDs (optional): Limit results to candidates associated with one or more jobs.
  • Create After Date (optional): Only include candidates created after a specified timestamp.
  • Page (optional): Choose which page of results to return.
  • Per Page (optional): Choose how many candidates to return per page.

Add Candidate Note

Creates a new note on the candidate’s timeline in TalentLyft, making it easy to document verification outcomes where recruiters already work. Teams often use this step to post a concise status update (for example, “Verification passed” or “Additional review required”), along with any internal context that helps the hiring team take the next action.

Configuration Steps:

  • Candidate ID: The TalentLyft candidate you want to add a note to.
  • Message: The text content of the note.
  • Member ID (optional): Attribute the note to a specific TalentLyft team member.

Update Candidate Tags

Replaces the candidate’s existing tags with a new list of tags. This is useful when you want TalentLyft to reflect a single source of truth for workflow status (for example, ensuring only the latest verification/status tags are present), and enables filtering and routing based on the updated tag set.

Configuration Steps:

  • Candidate ID: The TalentLyft candidate you want to update.
  • Tags: The full list of tags the candidate should have after the update (include any tags you want to keep, since this action replaces the tag set).

FAQs

Where do I find my TalentLyft API access token?

In TalentLyft, go to your profile menu, open Integrations, then locate TalentLyft Access token Settings to generate (or copy) your access token.

Will updating tags add to existing tags or overwrite them?

This operation replaces the candidate’s tags with the list you provide. If you want to keep an existing tag, include it in the new list.

Does TalentLyft rate limit API requests?

Yes. TalentLyft applies rate limiting to Customer API requests made with API tokens (for example, 500 requests per minute per API token).
