Overview

Everhour is a time tracking platform for teams. People log hours against projects and tasks with a timer or by entering time manually, including inside tools such as Asana, Trello, Jira, Basecamp, and GitHub, and the tracked time feeds Everhour’s budgets, billing rates, invoices, and team reports.

Persona’s Everhour integration lets a Workflow add time to an Everhour task and read the team’s projects, tasks, users, and time records. For example, a Workflow can log the time a reviewer spent on a Case against the task your team uses for identity review work.

Integration features

The Everhour integration supports these Workflow actions:

  • List projects: List the projects the key’s user can see, including projects synced from other tools.
  • List project tasks: List the tasks in a project.
  • List users: List the members of the team.
  • Get current user: Return the user who owns the API key, including their team.
  • Add time to task: Add time to a task for a user on a given day.
  • List time records: List the team’s time records, optionally for a date range.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the integration, you need:

  • An Everhour account on a paid Everhour plan. The Everhour API is not available on Everhour’s free plan; new Everhour accounts start on a trial that includes it.
  • Your Everhour API token.

The token acts with your own Everhour permissions. Admins can see the whole team’s time; members see only what they can see in the Everhour app.

Set up Everhour credentials

  1. In Everhour, click your avatar in the bottom-left corner and choose My Profile.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and copy the key in the API Token section.
  3. In the Persona Dashboard, go to Integrations > Marketplace and select Everhour.
  4. Click Add Credential, enter a nickname for the credential, and paste the API token.
  5. Save the credential.

Use Everhour in a Workflow

  1. Create a Workflow, or open the Workflow you want to update.
  2. Add an Action step and select Integrations.
  3. Select Everhour, choose the saved credential, and select an action.
  4. Map Persona data to the action’s input fields.
  5. Save and publish the Workflow.

Everhour actions

Everhour project and task IDs are strings that start with the code of the tool they come from, such as ev:197120449330687 for a native Everhour project or as:1234567890 for an Asana project. User IDs are numbers.

List projects

Returns the projects the user can see. Use it to find the Project ID for List project tasks.

Optional fields: Name Contains, Platform (Everhour, Asana, Trello, Jira, and other tools Everhour syncs with), Limit.

List project tasks

Returns the tasks in a project. Use it to find the Task ID for Add time to task.

Required fields: Project ID.

Optional fields: Name Contains, Exclude Closed Tasks, Page, Limit.

List users and Get current user

List users returns the members of the team. Get current user returns the owner of the API key and their team. Use either to find a User ID for Add time to task. Neither needs any input.

Add time to task

Adds time to a task for a user on a given day.

Required fields:

  • Task ID
  • Time (Seconds): Whole seconds, for example 3600 for one hour.
  • Date: In YYYY-MM-DD format, for example 2026-09-11. Any other format is rejected.

Optional fields:

  • User ID: Defaults to the owner of the API key.
  • Comment

Everhour keeps one time record per user, task, and day. If a record already exists, the new time is added to it and the comment is appended on a new line, rather than a second record being created.

List time records

Returns the team’s time records. Each record holds the time one user tracked on one task, or without a task, on one day.

Optional fields: From Date, To Date, Page, Limit.

FAQs

Why does Everhour return a 403 error?

A missing or invalid API token returns 403 with the message Access denied. Check that the credential holds a current token and that the token’s owner is on a paid Everhour plan.

Does Everhour limit API requests?

Yes. Everhour allows about 20 requests every 10 seconds per API token, and says this can vary with load. Above that it returns HTTP 429.
