Overview
Dropbox Sign is an electronic-signature platform for sending documents for signature, tracking signing progress, and downloading completed documents. Persona’s Dropbox Sign integration lets you send and manage signature requests from a Workflow.
Integration features
The Dropbox Sign integration supports these Workflow actions:
- Send signature request: Send documents at publicly downloadable URLs to one or more signers.
- List signature requests: Retrieve signature requests with optional pagination and search filters.
- Get signature request: Retrieve a signature request, including signer status and entered field values.
- Download files: Download the documents for a signature request as a PDF or ZIP archive.
- List templates: Retrieve the templates available to the authenticated account.
Prerequisites
Before configuring the integration, you need:
- A Dropbox Sign account.
- A Dropbox Sign API key.
- Publicly downloadable document URLs when sending a signature request.
Set up Dropbox Sign credentials
- In Dropbox Sign, open Settings > API and generate or reveal an API key.
- In the Persona Dashboard, go to Integrations > Marketplace and select Dropbox Sign.
- Select Add Credential and enter a nickname and the API key.
- Save the credential.
Dropbox Sign uses HTTP Basic authentication. Persona supplies the API key as the username and an empty password.
Use Dropbox Sign in a workflow
- Create a workflow or open the workflow you want to update.
- Add an Action step and select Integrations.
- Select Dropbox Sign, choose the saved credential, and select an action.
- Map Persona data to the action inputs.
- Save and publish the workflow.

Send signature request
Send a signature request to one or more signers.
Required fields:
- Signers: Each signer needs a name and email address.
- File URLs: Publicly downloadable URLs for the documents to sign.
Optional fields include:
- Title, email subject, and email message
- Signing order and signer access PINs
- CC email addresses
- Test mode, which creates a free watermarked request that is not legally binding
- Text-tag parsing, a signing redirect URL, expiration time, and metadata
List and get signature requests
List signature requests to find a Signature Request ID, then use that ID to retrieve the request’s current details. Listing supports account, pagination, and search-query inputs. A retrieved request includes signer statuses, completion and decline state, and response data.
Download files and list templates
Use a Signature Request ID to download the request’s files as a PDF or ZIP archive. List templates to retrieve the template IDs and their available signer and CC roles.
Dropbox Sign is not in the current integration availability registry. This guide describes the migrated OpenAPI definition; confirm public launch availability before relying on it for production use.
