The verification flow is not in my language

What to do when the Persona verification flow does not appear in your preferred language.

This guide is for individuals going through a Persona-powered identity verification flow. While we’ve included helpful tips, the verification was set up by the business, service, or organization that asked you to verify. They use Persona as a tool, and they ultimately decide what’s required and can assist with your specific situation, if you’re having trouble.

The flow follows what the company set up

The language of a verification flow is chosen by the business that asked you to verify. Persona supports many languages, but the company decides which ones are available for their flow, and its default may match the language they think you use.

Check for a language option

Look for a language or globe menu in the flow, usually near the top or on the first screen. Some flows let you switch languages partway through, and it is worth looking before you restart.

Using your browser to translate

If the flow does not offer your language, your browser or phone may translate the page. Translation can occasionally hide buttons or work imperfectly on webcam-based flows, so if a step does not make sense after translating, contact the business that asked you to verify rather than guessing.

Where translation does not help

The document scan and selfie steps show an image of what to do, so they work even when you cannot read the words. If the flow itself is unusable for you, the business that set it up can help you in your language, and often has a support line for exactly this.
