This guide is for individuals going through a Persona-powered identity verification flow. While we’ve included helpful tips, the verification was set up by the business, service, or organization that asked you to verify. They use Persona as a tool, and they ultimately decide what’s required and can assist with your specific situation, if you’re having trouble.
Can I delete my Persona Wallet?
Yes. You can delete your Persona Wallet, or individual information inside it, in the Persona Wallet app (App Store, Google Play).
You need your passkey to open or delete your wallet. Without your passkey, neither you nor Persona can open a Persona Wallet.
How do I delete it?
Open the Persona Wallet app, go to the Settings tab and select Delete Persona. The app asks you to confirm before anything is removed.
Do I need to delete my passkey too?
No. Once the wallet is deleted, the passkey doesn’t open anything. If you want to remove it anyway, delete it where your phone keeps passkeys (the Passwords app on iPhone, or your password manager on Android). Delete the wallet first, because you need the passkey to sign in and delete it.
Does deleting my wallet affect Verify with Persona?
No. Verify with Persona doesn’t use your Persona Wallet. It checks new verifications against your earlier Persona verifications, and only when you opt in.
To ask Persona to delete your verification history, or to stop using it for Verify with Persona, make a request through the Persona privacy portal.
I shared information with a business. Can I undo that?
Deleting your Persona Wallet doesn’t delete information you already shared with a business. You gave that information to the business as part of the verification they asked for, and they control it. To have it deleted, contact that business and ask them to delete any copies of your personal data they got through Persona. See Can I delete my data?
