This guide is for individuals going through a Persona-powered identity verification flow. While we’ve included helpful tips, the verification was set up by the business, service, or organization that asked you to verify. They use Persona as a tool, and they ultimately decide what’s required and can assist with your specific situation, if you’re having trouble.
Why a second verification happens
Being asked to verify again is common and rarely a problem with you. Usually it happens because:
- The first request expired before you finished. See my verification link has expired.
- The business set up a new request, for example for a new purchase, account change, or security check.
- The first verification failed or could not be completed, and the business resends a fresh attempt.
Each request starts fresh
A new request is a new verification. You re-enter your details and take new photos; past submissions do not carry over automatically.
If you already completed one
If you believe you already verified and are being asked again, ask the business you are verifying with. They can confirm whether a new check was genuinely required or whether something went wrong.
